Comfort Zones: Sanctuary

My current project is dealing with the concept of conditioned behavior from prescribed societal rules and expectations. Using the aesthetic influence of the ‘Yellow lines” seen in urban environments, unspoken but communally agreed upon behavior are enforced silently and with purpose. The lines are regulations, but at the same time they can also be defenders, keeping certain things in check as much as protecting the social peace by reminding inhabitants of acceptable behaviors.

Due to these ever-present psychological restrictions from certain cultural and societal expectations, I will explore how individual sanctuaries are then subconsciously deprived of expansions and possibility.
